1/33 Charnwood Rd StKilda apartment is located in the tranquil part of StKilda. We purchased this apartment unrenovated, basically in original condition from the 1970's in July 2024. For $330,000. It took us approximately a few months to complete the whole renovation. We used $10,000 of our budget to do everything. We took off the carpet and there was concrete underneath the floor. So we hired a floorperson and paid $3000 to install beautiful light laminate flooring with the underlay. It looks amazing. We painted the walls ourselves, actually I painted all of the apartment myself in Lexicon white paint. Nice look. Next we took out the old kitchen from that small room and fixed up all the edges and patched up all the holes and painted. Then we purchased a new kitchen from Ikea and installed it in the living space. Now we have a spare bedroom/study and an open plan living/dining space. It actually worked out quite well. The main bedroom, we did not do much, except for paint and flooring. In the bathroom. We replaced a toilet and purchased a new vanity. We also painted the tiles in white and got a new showerhead and taps. We also purchased beautiful original gold palm tree towel hooks from Adairs. It fitted in really well. Pendant lights add a casual, relaxed StKilda type vibe look. Thus we had new gold handles in all rooms. And new pendant lights in every room. Then we furnished it and staged it. And it looks amazing. In October 2025 we put the apartment for Private Sale. I was actually selling it myself through PropertyNow. Which is a site that lets you list it yourself and sell it yourself. I found the process interesting and I think I saved $15,000 in Agent fees. Really enjoyed the process and will do it again.
